Artist Statement | The Process

What inspires me are grasses, leaves, the natural world. These objects have a gleeful, whimsical, dancing feeling. I hope to capture the "nature" of these subjects without being too serious!

The viewer could see frogs lurking, strawberries taking off like rocketships and ribbons streaming. The effervescent colors reflect Mary's joy of life.

My paintings are painted on clear glazed linen, canvas and regular linen. The clear glazed linen is a new look for me that both my collectors and I enjoy.
